From Vietnam Vets to kids, PTSD treatment options offer hope

Charley Joyce, LICSW, talked about “The History of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Prolonged Exposure Trauma” at the first brown bag lunch webinar hosted by LSSND’s Abound Counseling this afternoon. Charley helped the listeners from across the state understand how the experience and advocacy of Vietnam Veterans helped change the way mental health professionals understand and treat trauma-related issues, and gave his insights into some of the keys to effective treatment today.

The next brown bag will be February 17 at 12:00 CST. Sara Stallman, LISCW, will talk about “Children’s Trauma Treatment.” For information on this and other upcoming training opportunities, contact aarntson@lssnd.org or visit http://ow.ly/XkN7Y
