LSS staff members tie blue ribbons in honor of Foster Care Month
Unaccompanied Refugee Minor staff members, Beth Warner and Jennifer Heldt, tied ribbons around trees at the Fargo Program Center of Lutheran Social Services on May 1 to celebrate Foster Care Month. The ribbons represent the 25 minors currently in foster home and kinship care placements. Five more unaccompanied refugee minors are expected to arrive this year.
The Unaccompanied Refugee Minor program works to find foster homes for refugee minors, who are arrive in the United States without parents or guardians. The program is celebrating its 25th anniversary of serving the needs of unaccompanied refugee minor through New American Services of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota.
