Under supervision, the Aging Life Care (ALC) Intern will support clients through assessment, development/monitoring care plans to identify strengths, needs, improve quality of life, and promote safety in independent living. Provide information and resources to potential clients, families and other agencies through outreach and networking efforts. The ALC Intern will track and monitor documentation and surveys of ALC programs as well as assist in development and implementation.

Client Care:  Implements care plans and works with client toward established goals; Maintains, monitors care plans based on provisions and needs; Consults with treatment partners to ensure effective service delivery to clients and their families; Serves as advocate and liaison for seniors and families related to direct care services; Coordinates necessary support with referral sources; and Makes observances/recommendations to supervisor related to individual treatment as needed.

Community Engagement:  Engages community and builds program awareness through presentations and discussions related to senior care; Markets program including distributing program materials; Participates in senior events including booth set up and facilitation; and Presents and facilitates program discussions with senior groups and others as needed.

Research – new tools on social media (polls, surveys, interactive posts, etc.) and find ways we could use them at LSSND.

Engage – LSSND Social Employee Team – create and distribute usable content, themes and ideas for LSSND Twitter Team.  Develop newsletter with tips, tricks, and tools for them to continue to improve their “social skills.”

Family Counseling Intern position will be based out the Program Center located in Bismarck, North Dakota.  The Intern will work alongside and shadow the Family Therapist in the Family Counseling Program.   The Intern will both observe and take an active role in case management activities as well as attend and observe individual and family therapy meetings and complete clinical charting, assessment, treatment planning and billing activities.

 

Therapy:  Shadows Family Therapists as they provide family therapy services; Attends and observes interdisciplinary treatment team meetings with collateral contacts including educational institutions, and other professional treatment and referral sources; Assists in developing comprehensive mental health assessments and initial treatment plans utilizing the ND model; and Assists in formulating recommendations related to individual/parent/family treatment as needed.


Documentation and Recordkeeping:  Participates in the Completion of Family Assessment and the Service Goal Attainment Treatment Guide, Termination Summary Report and daily charting (session notes and contact log); Observes and participates in the documentation of home visits and crisis management interventions according to Agency, State and Federal guidelines; and Observes and participates in the completion of monthly billing and expense forms as needed.

Luther Hall Clinical Intern - FILLED

The ideal candidate for the Luther Hall Clinical Internship opportunity is a master’s-level student who is passionate about helping youth ages 10 – 17 who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder and need 24-hour care and treatment. This Internship position includes working in Therapy Services, specifically with Luther Hall Clinical Services. Interns will have a structured academic opportunity with LSSND through experiential learning.  Interns will have the opportunity to integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting.  Providing comprehensive individual, group and family mental health therapy and case management services, Luther Hall Clinical Services may be a good fit for an Intern interested in a social work and/or other human service related fields.

 

Therapy: Provides individual, group and family therapy; Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team planning; Develops comprehensive psychosocial assessments and initial treatment plans within state regulation guidelines for completion; Provides crisis intervention consultation; Documents in medical records according to Agency and State and Federal regulations; Serves as advocate for services for residents and/or families; and Make recommendations related to individual treatment including individual and family plans. 

 

Case Management: Completes assessment of residents and/or situation and determination of services as needed and provide updates and information to parents/guardians as needed.

The ideal candidate for the Supervision Services Intern position is passionate about keeping youth out of courthouses and in schools. This Intern position includes working in the Youth Interventions Service Area and will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the various aspects of the Service Area or the Intern may specialize in one specific area.  The Intern will have the opportunity to integrate knowledge learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting.  The Supervision Services Intern position may provide a good fit for an Intern interested in criminal justice, social work, psychology and/or other human service related fields.

Mentorship: Provide positive social interactions with youth, engage youth in effective communication, encourage the development of appropriate coping skills, and serve as an advocate for the youth.

Skill Building: Assist youth with the development of various essential skills to their development, such as: Educational, Recreational, Nutritional, Social, Career Development, Behavioral, and more…

Supervision: Provide a structured, safe environment in which youth development can Thrive.
