At times raising children is like sailing in rough
waters. Lutheran Social Services Family Coaching Specialists help parents raise thriving children by supporting them through those rough spots.
Children learn important life skills over time
through supportive relationships with caregivers.
Just like navigating by the stars or finding the closes harbor in a storm, there are resources available to guide families and to help children develop skills.
So many factors can make it hard for parents to
navigate family life. We support families by helping focus attention on what children need to prosper. Together, with parents and children, we will explore the possibilities and find solutions.
Services are available in an approximate 60-mile radius of our Family Service Hubs located within the state of North Dakota in the Grand Forks, Dickinson, and Watford City areas.

Community Engagement Processes
Families engage in services on a voluntary basis. There is no cost due to the generosity of our donors.
Recognizing that life is full of transitions often surrounding developmental milestones, families with children from birth through young adulthood are encouraged to use Family Coaching as a proactive and early intervention approach to navigating the waters of life.
Self-referrals are encouraged and accepted. Families may also be referred by churches, schools, law enforcement, friends, family, or community agencies.
Appointments are encouraged. However, walk-ins are accepted when possible.
Please note that at times staff will not be available in the office due to off-site appointments with families.
