Violence Free

What is domestic violence?

Domestic violence treatment is not the same as anger management. Domestic violence is a way of gaining power and control over a partner. It is supported by a belief system that uses physical violence, emotional abuse, minimization, economic abuse, intimidation, isolation, male privilege and/or coercion and threats to gain that power and control. Males are the predominant perpetrators of domestic violence.
