Fargo, ND -- Cass County Youth Court, a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, has been awarded $3,000 from the Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation through its annual Community Grant Round.
Youth Court provides an alternative to formal court proceedings for youth in Cass County who have been charged with an offense or are showing concerning behavior. The program mobilizes other youth in meaningful volunteer experiences serving as Youth Court jurors and providing a positive peer influence. The program also focuses on primary prevention of juvenile delinquency through classroom presentations in area schools on topics relevant to today’s youth, assisting them in staying free from law breaking and dangerous behavioral choices.
