Lutheran Social Services Housing, Inc.
The mission of Lutheran Social Services Housing is to support the continued vitality of North Dakota communities by providing housing and housing-related services.
What We Do
Lutheran Social Services Housing takes a project through the following three phases in order to build community involvement and ensure long term success.
- Identify the Need - When there is limited housing available, people may be forced to move elsewhere. This makes community growth difficult. Lutheran Social Services Housing works with congregations, communities and others in the housing industry to identify housing demand and community needs with a goal of developing sustainable housing projects.
- Build the solution - Lutheran Social Services Housing works in partnership with state and federal housing agencies, businesses and individuals to build real-life solutions. We help bring resources to the community to create and preserve affordable housing.
- Implement the vision - Lutheran Social Services continues its partnership with the community after the project is built by providing on-going property management and helping the community with needed support services.
Portfolio of Possibilities
- Rental Housing - The development of rental housing serves a range of needs, from seniors looking for a low maintenance retirement option to individuals and young families who are not yet ready or interested in home ownership.
- Revitalization of Existing Properties- Abandoned and deteriorating properties can be demoralizing to any community. By transforming existing properties into quality housing, Lutheran Social Services Housing can breathe new life into once treasured buildings.
- Opportunities for Support Services - The development of community spaces in conjunction with housing is an important part of the Lutheran Social Services Housing mission. When space is available for activities such as senior meal programs, educational events and wellness activities, a community prospers socially and emotionally.
