Anger Management
Anger is a natural emotion. It's what you do with your anger that makes the difference.
Persons referred to anger management go through a clinical interview and fill out questionnaires regarding the effects that anger has had on their work and family relationships as well as any legal problems it has caused.
Anger management group treatment helps participants understand the causes of their anger, the problems that result from their anger and ways to express anger appropriately.
Anger management groups meet for two hours each week for eight weeks.
The goals of the group sessions are to help participants:
-
Identify what triggers their anger
-
Learn ways to calm themselves
-
Find healthy ways to express anger without hurting themselves or others
-
Develop an on-going plan for managing their anger
