Lutheran Social Services announces plans for Williston senior housing

The old junior high building, listed on the National Historic Register, has had an excellent steward in the person of Williston resident Earl Westereng, who has owned it since 2005 and is selling it to Lutheran Social Services Housing at a very favorable price to help support the project.
Elected officials and civic leaders gathered this summer in Williston for an event outlining the exciting plans for Lutheran Social Services Legacy Living-Williston, new nonprofit apartments for lower income seniors that are being created by renovation of the city’s former junior high school.

The 1931 junior high school’s interior will be transformed into 44 new affordable one and two bedroom apartments for seniors on a low or fixed income.

Jessica Thomasson, director of Lutheran Social Services Housing, explains the building’s new layout and features to the crowd.
