History
Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response was known as Lutheran Disaster Response ND until the name change in April 2012. Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response became active in 1997 with the Red River Valley/Grand Forks flood. Since then, the agency has responded to 22 disasters with various services for long-term recovery efforts in case management, rebuilding, volunteer coordination and providing unique services for rural residents impacted by disaster.
