UND honored again by Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota for hiring New Americans

The University of North Dakota Facilities Department recently was awarded the Employer of the Year Award as part of an initiative of the Lutheran Social Services New Americans program, part of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota.

UND earned this award, its second in less than three months, by providing an exceptional place to work and making outstanding contributions to refugee resettlement during the past year. UND also was recognized for being a highly sought after place of employment by offering great opportunities for involvement, training and excellent benefits.

Several UND representatives recently were honored for the achievement at a special ceremony for World Refugee Day in Grand Forks at the Town Square in downtown Grand Forks.

Tyler Clauson, a Human Resources representative, collected the award on the school’s behalf.

“This award means a lot to UND,” Clauson said. “It’s great to be acknowledged for our efforts in making our workplace as diverse as possible. But that doesn’t come without also acknowledging the hard working individuals that have helped bring this award to campus.”

“We strive to do better by continuing to improve communication with and building a more firm knowledge of all of our hard working employees,” said Clauson. “We pride ourselves on giving everyone an equal opportunity to succeed in our workforce.”

UND was previously recognized as a Lutheran Social Services Employer of the Year in April.
