Two join Lutheran Social Services Senior Companions

Purushottam Panda has joined the Lutheran Social Services Senior Companions program as a volunteer senior companion in the Grand Forks area.

Originally from Dhenkanal, India., Panda was previously employed as a physician and medical school professor.

Barb Dumas has joined the Lutheran Social Services Senior Companions program as a volunteer senior companion serving Walsh and Grand Forks counties.

Originally from Grafton, N.D., Dumas was employed many years in the health and human services field, including work as an emergency technician and a guardian ad litem.

As a senior companions, Dumas and Panda provide free in-home assistance with daily living activities and social and recreational opportunities to help seniors who are homebound, lonely, isolated, frail or disabled.
