Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response asking for unmet needs support for flood victims

Recent heavy, record-breaking rainfall throughout North Dakota is creating a financial hardship for residents whose homes were damaged by water.

Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response is asking for financial donations to help North Dakotans recover and rebuild their lives.

Residents in Pembina, Stark and Walsh Counties and the Spirit Lake Tribe have reported cracked walls and basement foundations, destroyed water heaters and furnaces, raw sewage backup, and septic system failure. Many did not have adequate insurance and have limited resources.

Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response coordinates the state Unmet Needs Committee; donated dollars will be shared with members of the N.D. Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster who are supporting efforts to help citizens make repairs and rebuild their lives.

Donations can be sent to Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response at 1720 3rd Ave. N., Fargo, ND 58102. For additional information, contact Jenny Gomke,Case Manager, at 701-271-3288.
