A ribbon cutting and public open house at 2 pm Monday, Aug. 22, will mark the grand opening of the new Linden Corners Apartments in Stanley, ND.
Located at 502 3rd St SE, the complex, which features 17 unique apartments ranging in size from studios to three-bedroom units, has been created through renovation of the former Stanley Community Hospital. The project was carried out by Lutheran Social Services Housing, Inc., a subsidiary of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota.
An innovative public-private funding partnership made restoration of the former hospital a reality with support from the Scandia American Bank & Trust of Stanley, ND Housing Finance Agency, ND Department of Commerce, Otto Bremer Foundation, American Lutheran Church of Stanley, City of Stanley, Mountrail County Housing Authority, Mountrail County Job Development Authority, CommunityWorks ND and Enterprise Community Partners.
Linden Corners Apartments will provide attractive homes for a wide range of residents, including households in need of new housing due to recent flooding in Minot and working families from throughout Mountrail County who are seeking affordable rental housing.
The Aug. 22 event will feature guided tours of the new units, root beer floats for all attendees and a blessing and dedication of the new complex led by Mark Narum, Bishop of North Dakota’s Western Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, who is also a member of the Lutheran Social Services Housing Board of Directors and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota Board of Directors.
